DOUGH FEEDER

The unit receives the dough in variable quantities and feeds in a uniform
fashion the down-line machines.
It consists of a dough collecting bin having stainless steel walls and a bottom
belt conveying the dough toward two different systems: in case of
hard biscuit production the dough is cut into slices, while it is crumbled
when soft biscuit dough is required. The unit receives discrete quantities of
dough and feeds in a uniform fashion the down-line machines.
It consists of a dough collecting bin having stainless steel walls and a bottom
belt conveying the dough.
The supply can include a Bowl Tilting Device placed aside.
The dough is conveyed onto a PVC belt, supported by heavy duty rollers
suitable to sustain high weight and having a low advancement resistance.
Driving is obtained by a rubber coated roller with 200 mm diameter, driven
by a fixed speed motor-reducer with chain transmission.
The belt is cleaned externally by means of an adjustable plastic scraper
placed near the driving roller; a second scraper, in carbon steel and zinc
plated, cleans the inner side of the belt; scraping pressure is due to the simple
weight of scraper. The belt delivers the dough to two systems which
cut it in slices in case of hard biscuits, or crumble the dough in case of
soft biscuits. A food-grade plastic chute, manually operated by a side lever,
is supplied to by-pass the crumbling device. When hard biscuits are
produced, the cutting group and the paced advancement of the belt are
synchronized. During soft biscuit production, the crumbling group and
the conveyor belt run in continuous.
These systems and the conveyor belt are activated/deactivated by a signal
coming when the hopper of the down-stream machine is full.
Outer protections are made of painted carbon steel while cutting group
and crumblier protections are made of Plexiglas.
Manual belt tensioning and tracking are trough adjusting screw. The
machine rests on feet with adjustment of ±50 mm. The dough feeder is
equipped with a steel guillotine driven by electric motor. Movements of
conveyor belt and guillotine are synchronized and the conveyor belt is
stopped when the guillotine goes down.
The dough feeder is supplied with a dough crumblier with reel made of
stainless steel and driven by a fixed speed motor-reducer of 4 kW.
The dough is transferred by the conveyor to the dough crumblier where it
is reduced in crumbs.
The dough feeder can be completed with both portioning systems; in this
case, a plastic chute, manually controlled by an external lever, is also provided
to allow the by-pass of the crumbling device when the unit acts in
the mode with guillotine (for hard biscuits).
The dough feeder is equipped with Plexiglas protections and inspection
door with safety micro-switch.
